In the stimulating fun packed environment that is Abacus Day Nursery your children under the friendly and expert eye of our qualified staff will grow and develop their personalities and learning powers. Here they will be involved in pre-school work, constructive play, song, dance, music and computers. Not all activities are on site and we often take groups of children on outings and for walks. They are of course more than adequately accompanied by staff and your written permission is sought prior to any such excursions, all of which are designed, quite literally, to broaden their horizons!
Until the age of two years the child is accommodated in our purpose built baby unit separated from the other unit in order to afford children the security of their surroundings. Here as everywhere within Abacus, the child receives excellent care from our highly qualified staff, they start learning very basic skills of course but they become increasing confident so that when the time comes to upgrade to the Abacus Day Nursery it is undertaken with ease. Babies’ food is supplied by the parents as are nappies. Toys are available here but children are welcome to bring their own if they prefer.
Once they have progressed to the Day Nursery there is a carefully constructed process resulting in children advancing further to the best Primary School for them and beyond. At all steps along the way parents’ involvement is encouraged and indeed it is seen to be a vital part of the child’s development.
At Abacus Day Centre parents are requested to provide the children with a simple uniform featuring our embroidered logo. These are specially made and are available from the nursery. The Abacus Day Centre is open every weekday, excluding Christmas, New Years Day and Bank Holidays, from 8am until 5.50pm and there are two sessions per day. In the event of sickness, we do not administer medicine unless specified by the parent but we do reserve the right to seek emergency assistance if we feel it to be appropriate and, of course, we make every endeavour to advise you of the situation. Young children though are susceptible to illness from time to time and only rarely does it become at all serious.
